About our Meetings
The in-person meeting is on the second Wednesday of the month at Christian Community Presbyterian Church (3120 Belair Drive, Bowie, Maryland). Doors open at 6:30 pm and visitors are encouraged to drop in. The virtual meeting is held on the fourth Wednesday on Zoom. Visitors must contact the guild or a member to receive the link.
During meetings, members will discuss guild business, share their recent projects, and attend a program organized for the evening. The business portion begins at 7:00 pm, followed by Show & Tell, a short break, and the program. Potluck celebrations are held in May and December. Door prizes are awarded to a random attendee in our nametag drawing. Selections from the guild library are available for borrowing, and often members clean out their stash of fabric, magazines, and other supplies for other guild members to enjoy. And most important, we sit around large round tables, work on various sewing (or crafting) projects, and catch up with each other.
Cancellation Policies
In-person meetings and events will be cancelled or postponed in the event of inclement weather or if any of the following occurs:
- If it is snowing at the time of the meeting.
- If Prince George’s or Anne Arundel County Schools are closed on a meeting day.
- If Prince George’s or Anne Arundel counties cancel evening activities on a meeting night.
Other Cancellations
- The virtual meeting in November is held on the 5th Wednesday if there is one, due to Thanksgiving.
- There is no virtual meeting on the 4th Wednesday in December.
We invite guests to attend a general meeting to see how enjoyable they are. If guests attend more than two general meetings, we ask that you become a due-paying member to take advantage of programs, newsletters, the library, and other sharing opportunities.
